Yes Men

Highly recommended political satire doc. (them political docs oh so in this year)

Also noteworthy from the IFP Market:
- Neobillies (modern day hillbillies)
- FilmGeek (most certain to be picked up by a distributor soon)
- Three of Hearts (was picked up at Toronto by ThinkFilm - more than interesting story of 2 men and a women in a three-way relationship !!)
- Following Sean (filmmaker Ralph Arlyck revisits Sean who in the sixies at age 4 smoked pot and spoke candidly of speedfreaks. Adorable, charming boy still 35 years later.)

Oh, yes, and the highlight of my RESFEST experience was
Cheryl Dunn's "Bicycle Gangs of New York" !

Lilja 4-Ever

How disturbing.
Lukas Moodyson's third feature that came out in 2002 is depressing all the way through but oh so effective. Still 12 hours after seeing it I just can't get it out of my mind.
The same can not be said for Michael Mann's Collateral. Ok - Tom Cruise is extremely convincing as a hit-man and Jamie Foxx is definately good as the cab driver and yes, there is some above average dialogue there -- but really, at the end of the day this is just a movie about a hit-man working to take out his targets. Come-on Tom Cruise, if you have all the money in the world, all the power in the world and the ability to choose from any single project possible -- This is what you choose ??? Is this all you have to say, is this all you want to use your power to say?

More Moodyson - More Joshua Marston. (dir. Maria Full of Grace)
